National Coffee Day with Friends and Coffee Milkshake

Today is National Coffee Day, and I am celebrating with Eight O’Clock Coffee. I have been a huge fan of Eight O’ Clock Coffee for many years (my parents always drank it while I was growing up). I love making coffee for myself or for a friend for some one-on-one girl time, and now that it’s fall, I enjoy sitting out on my deck under the fall foliage enjoying every sip with Eight O’ Clock Coffee. My three kids actually like coffee too. They are huge fans of this Coffee Milkshake recipe, which only has 4 ingredients, starting with Eight O’ Clock Coffee.  I am excited to share that Eight O’Clock Coffee fans throughout the country looking to join in on the National Coffee Day celebration can visit Eight O’Clock Coffee’s Facebook page for a chance to win coffee prizes and a trip to LA to visit the Warner Brothers studios. Check out their twitter page too!  This post is sponsored by Eight O’ Clock Coffee, but all opinions are my own.

To celebrate National Coffee Day, Eight O’Clock Coffee is continuing the celebration of the Friends 20th anniversary with a variety of fun activities and giveaways at the pop-up shop in New York. How cool is that? To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Friends premiere, Eight O’Clock Coffee partnered with Warner Bros. to create the first-ever Central Perk Roast – a limited edition varietal inspired by the beloved coffee shop that served as the backdrop to so many memorable moments on the show.  If you watched a television in the 90’s, you probably were like me and hooked on “Friends”. While the show always made me laugh, my favorite episode was when Rachel gets off the plane to reunite with Ross. Ross gets home and listens to the voicemail where Rachel say’s, “I love you”, and she realizes she is in love with him. It’s so sweet and touching and always makes tear up. I miss that show!

More about the coffee…The Limited Edition Eight O’Clock Central Perk Roast is a medium coffee house roast made with carefully selected, high quality, 100% Arabica beans, for which the Eight O’Clock brand is known. Friends fans throughout the country can celebrate this milestone and bring Central Perk into their own living rooms by purchasing bags of the limited edition variety at grocery and mass merchandise stores nationwide and online at for approximately $6.99.

Also, there’s a pop-up replica of Central Perk, the neighborhood coffee shop frequented by the characters on Friends. Located in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood at 199 Lafayette Street (at the corner of Broome Street), the Central Perk commemorative pop-up shop will serve free cups of Eight O’ Clock Coffee and feature authentic memorabilia including the iconic orange couch and improv musical acts reminiscent of Phoebe’s “Smelly Cat. The pop-up shop will be open to the public September 17 – October 18. Eight O’Clock Coffee is America’s original gourmet coffee brewed with passion for over 150 years. Made with 100% Arabica beans, the Eight O’Clock Coffee portfolio features a full line of great tasting gourmet coffees in whole bean and ground form. The brand offers fourteen varieties and blends ranging from light to dark roasts. Eight O’Clock sources high quality 100% Arabica beans from the world’s best coffee origins and then expertly blends, roasts and packages them at their facility in Landover, Maryland.

Simple Strawberry Milkshake

Strawberry Milkshakes

While strawberries are at their peak, try this Simple Strawberry Milkshake recipe with only 3 ingredients. Strawberries are so good for you. They protect your heart, increase HDL (good) cholesterol, lower your blood pressure, and even can help protect against cancer. Packed with vitamins, fiber, and particularly high levels of antioxidants known as polyphenols, strawberries are a sodium-free, fat-free, cholesterol-free, low-calorie food. They are among the top 20 fruits with high antioxidants and are a good source of manganese and potassium. Just one serving (8 strawberries) provides more vitamin C than an orange. Convinced already? 3 Ingredient Coffee Milkshake

We are HUGE fans of milkshakes at my house, and my kids are always concocting recipes and new variations. Since my youngest son, Zachary, loves coffee ice cream, he blended only 3 ingredients together to make this amazing 3 Ingredient Coffee Milkshake. It’s definitely as good as it looks. I think I have another future recipe developer on my hands :). And don’t forget: Milkshakes can be healthy! They contain milk which is high in protein and our bones need it so enjoy!

Peppermint Milkshakes: Only 3 Ingredients

I first made this recipe for Peppermint Milkshakes on my blog in December of 2008 when I literally threw three ingredients together in a blender for my kids instead of taking them to get peppermint ice cream. Since then, I have been making these religiously for parties and for my 3 kids. It has been one of the most heavenly requested recipes from my children’s friends who have come to my house and tried them. Whenever I’m invited to a holiday party, I typically get asked to make these. This past sunday night, I made them for 28 people, and it was beyond an absolute hit. So many requested me to post the infamous recipe one more time so they can make them for their family Christmas events. Here it is…Enjoy!

Rich and Creamy: Lightened-Up S’mores Milkshakes

Last week, I mentioned I was in a s’mores whirlwind creating s’mores recipes for various projects. I created this recipe for S’mores Milkshakes in my guest blog post on a really fun website “Makes and Takes“. It’s as yummy as it looks and so easy. This version on my site is the “lightened up” version.

I’m shooting 4 television shows this week so my life is beyond nuts. But, look for my upcoming television show on NBC 13 “Daytime Alabama” featuring fun s’more’s recipes coming soon. Date to come…

Three Ingredient: Chocolate Snickers Milkshakes

My oldest son, Alec, had to write a paper at school about his favorite candy bar. He picked Snickers. We bought so many that I can’t even give them away. The other night I suggested making Snickers Milkshakes so we tried them with vanilla ice cream. Tonight, we made them with chocolate, my weakness. With only 3 ingredients, you can’t get any better with either. They’re delicious!

Three Ingredient Peanut Butter Milkshakes

We have been on a huge milkshake kick at my house lately. Every night we take our favorite flavor ice cream and blend it up with skim milk, a touch of chocolate syrup and our favorite topping. I made this for NBC 13 Daytime Alabama coming up to air September, but Brooke Smith called me after the shoot and made these milkshakes that night.
