Tailgate season is here, and my daughter, Leigh and I decided to make some Game Day Sugar Cookie Recipe yesterday in time for the Alabama, Auburn and the Oregon game. I admit it. She did 99.9% of the work, and these came out great! This recipe is super easy. You can make this sugar cookie dough the night before. Just remove from the refrigerator, take the chill of while you preheat the oven and roll and cut them out the next day. Leigh also took this photo on my camera so I have to give her all the credit. These are perfect for all tailgating and football parties whether you’re watching the game or headed to your own children’s sporting event. Enjoy and have a wonderful week ahead! Thank you Leigh! 🙂
Happy Fourth of July. I hope everyone has a relaxing and safe holiday. My kids and I had so much fun making these Buttermilk Cupcakes last week. The cupcake recipe comes from Southern Living magazine from several years ago. It’s so easy and one of my favorites. Frost with homemade cream cheese icing or store-bought, and top with sprinkles or these adorable Fourth of July marshmallows by Jet Puffed.
As a Food Professional and Recipe Developer for national food magazines and corporate food clients, you could say I am pretty picky. So when I tell you that one of my all-time favorite food blogs that I absolutely love and look forward to is “Bakerella”, I mean it. Bakerella has a baking blog unlike no other. She enjoys baking and creating sweets for others to enjoy. In 2007 she took a cake decorating class, and since then she has been trying to improve her decorating skills, and oh, does, she have some incredible skills… I love her creativity, photography, style, and I can’t wait to see what she posts next. Check out her blog at http://bakerella.blogspot.com and recipe for Cupcake Pops above.
