Friday Thoughts

After a really rough week (with some exciting things happening and bad news too), I am thrilled for opportunities such as this one in the photo above. I love travel, and I thank my lucky stars every day for the gift of travel. My mom used to tell me (when she was still alive), that “you must travel once a month”. She traveled the world with my dad. I definitely think she passed down the travel bug. Mom, you would be very proud (I miss you)! Have a great weekend everyone!

Horse Stamp Inn: Travel Tuesday

Open for only eight weeks, the Horse Stamp Inn has been recognized by Southern Living Magazine as one of the “Top 8 Fall Getaways” in October, 2012. “Get away to coastal Georgia for a fun equestrian weekend, a short drive from Jekyll Island. Giddy up with Three Oaks Farm for a beach ride. At the five room, newly opened Horse Stamp Inn, you can fish the on-site artesian pond, enjoy farm-to-table breakfasts from the property’s own fresh eggs, and ride the Intracoastal Waterway on the Inn’s private boat”, says Southern Living. This inn is charming beyond words, perfect for weddings or just a weekend getaway. How unique that all 5 rooms at the inn are named for famous horses. See pictures of each room here, and descriptions below. I want to go ASAP. How about you?

Elegant and luxurious, the Seabiscuit Suite offers the only private balcony at the Inn. A perfect spot to view the green pastures, long entry drive and circular fountain, there is a warm profusion of red and gold hues – just right for special occasion vacations. Enjoy the carved dark wood 4-poster bed and oversized chair with ottoman. The master bath, alcove Jacuzzi, his/her dressing areas and ideally appointed walk-in closet make this a wonderful choice for anyone who loves spaciousness.

Turn the Key and it’s perfect for bridal suite and wedding party!

Calming yet playful, the Cimarron is a comfortable corner room with views of the front pastures, long entry drive and circular fountain. The sandy-colored theme with turquoise and floral accents surrounds the carved wood bed; could the sky blue colors and burlap trim be reminiscent of the American Wild West?  Enjoy your luxurious shower and tub, walk-in closet and plentiful bath products.  Curl up in a comfy arm chair for your afternoon nap.

Turn the key and you can almost hear the mustangs running on the trail.

Timeless and contemporary, the April Love is attractively alluring. Gazing out the windows at the neighboring pond, horse pastures and beautiful sunset views, there is a mystique about seeing or walking ‘Old Cemetery Road’. Climb into the vintage-replica old shutter wood bed and luxuriate in Ralph Lauren florals; Relax in the luxurious shower and tub with an abundance of bath products.. Sky blue walls accented with white and cream accessories make this room irresistibly eternal.

Turn the key, close your eyes and you’re at the horse shows you’ve always imagined!

Romantic and tropical, the Sugarfoot corner room offers expansive pasture views and enticing firepit at the Artesian pond. It’s a charming hideaway for two. The tufted headboard and colorful blending of coral, sand and dark brown accents makes this large room come to life. Feel pampered with a generous closet, double sinks, tub and shower. The plush sofa for two is a lovely spot to re-connect after a busy day.

Turn the key and let the cares of the world fall behind.

Cheerful and Country, the Dawn Run offers the most expansive corner views of the rustic barn, Artesian fed pond, chicken coop, back pastures and pool. The feeling of country charm is highlighted with soft yellow, blue and white as you tumble into the plush pillows and carved white bed. A large walk-in shower and closet could pamper any ‘thoroughbred’. There is a cheerful airiness throughout with the perfect upholstered rocking chair/ottoman to simply relax

Turn the key and let the steeplechase begin!

So, what about the food? Horse Stamp Inn’s, Kris and Tom are the most fabulous cooks – although they’re too humble to admit it. Breakfast, specialty dinners, happy hour – everything is made from scratch with local products and food in their country kitchen. Their recipes rock, and it sounds like heaven to me! See more information at Horse Stamp Inn.
