Apple Festival at Ritz Carlton, Downtown, Atlanta: Travel Tuesday

Who loves apples? I just received news about the coolest fall apple event in the south! Executive Chef Julio Delgado of The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta will travel to Ellijay, Georgia, this month to select crisp fall apples for a special menu to be presented in Atlanta Grill in recognition of the annual North Georgia Apple Festival. The á la carte menu will be presented from October 21 to 31 in addition to the restaurant’s popular dinner menu.

“Georgia’s plentiful orchards in the Blue Ridge Mountains yield more than 20 varieties of apples,” said Chef Delgado. “My mission is to bring the best apples home for our guests to enjoy.” Check out this menu!

Downton Abbey Afternoon Tea at Ritz Carlton Buckhead: Travel Tuesday

Inspired by Downton Abbey on Masterpiece, guests may enjoy the pleasantries of British-styled tea and snap a photo of themselves with a fanciful cutout of Lord Grantham and Lady Grantham, Dowager Countess at the hotel’s iconic fireplace in The Ritz Carlton Buckhead Lobby Lounge. This event will continue this week from Wednesday, January 9 through Sunday, January 13, 2013.

January 2013 marks 29 years of serving Afternoon Tea at The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead. Presented in the British tradition, Afternoon Tea includes the guest’s choice of fine loose tea steeped in a bone china teapot, and poured through a silver strainer into the teacup. A new menu of delectable savories, warm scones and sweets accompanies the tea service.

Mark your calendars now for an event you won’t want to miss. The Atlanta Food & Wine Festival will be held May 10-13, 2012, and tickets are on sale now.
