I admit it. I have been MIA! Life got a little crazy buying and moving into a new house, but I am back! We are iced in today, so my kids and I made this Spiced Chocolate Covered Fruit recipe. It’s so easy and only 3 ingredients! Dark chocolate is rich in flavonoids, which have heart-protecting properties and are rich in antioxidants. The protective factors are only seen in dark chocolate that contained at least 60 percent (preferably 70 percent or more) cocoa. There’s nothing better than a healthy snack with only 3 ingredients!
If you say a recipe with chocolate chips, I am in! Better yet, in a scone. These Apricot Chocolate Chip Scones are a wonderful fall or holiday breakfast recipe. This is just of of the 125 recipes in 125 Best Chocolate Chip Recipes by Julie Hasson and published by Robert Rose (who is also my cookbook publisher). You’ll enjoy incredibly creative recipes from cakes, pies to breads, muffins, beverages, bars and sauces with simple techniques and preparation and minimum fuss. These scones come together beautifully using a food processor, which effortlessly cuts the butter into the flour resulting in tender and flaky scones. My kids and I love that they combine apricot and chocolate chips, and I can’t wait to make these again for Thanksgiving or Christmas morning!
For years, I have searched for the best Noodle Kugel (casserole) for brunches, holiday gatherings and for Yom Kippur. This recipe for Apricot Noodle Kugel is so awesome. I prepared it for a holiday cooking class two weeks ago, and everyone went wild over it. It’s so easy and really is just dump, mix and bake. It’s prefect when you want a sweet noodle casserole for any holiday or large family event.
One of my very favorite things in the world is granola. These Easy and Healthy Homemade Granola Bars are one of my favorite homemade snack recipe favorites. These are a more than a wow! I love making these for my kids. Not only are they very easy and fast, but they taste superior in quality than all of the packaged bars out there on the shelves. I am saving money preparing these homemade and feel good to serve my kids something with no artificial ingredients or preservatives. Try them soon and let me know what you think!
