We are huge fans of pomegranate juice at my house. I like to put a splash in my water bottles, but the kids will drink it by itself. I twisted up the classic margarita cocktail to create this Frozen Pomagranate Margarita recipe. It is perfect for anytime this summer, when you want a cool, frozen cocktail beverage.
I love that pomegranate juice has so many wonderful antioxidants and healthy properties helping prevent cardiovascular disease, prostate cancers, sports recovery problems and more. Polyphenols found in pomegranates may even help fuel your exercise goals. For more information and studies, see Pom Wonderful.
Frozen Pomegranate Margarita
10 minutes
1 serving
1 ounce freshly squeezed pomegranate juice* or POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice
1 ounce tequila
1 ounce triple sec liqueur
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
11/2 ounces simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water dissolved together in cold water)
Ice
Salt and lime for garnish (optional)
1. Combine first 6 ingredients in an electric blender. Serve with salt or lime, if desired.
Notes:
* This cocktail can be made with freshly squeezed juice from a POM Wonderful Pomegranate or by using POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice. To juice the pomegranate, cut it in half (as you would a grapefruit) and juice using a citrus reamer or a juicer. Pour mixture through a cheesecloth-lined strainer or sieve. One large POM Wonderful Pomegranate will produce about 1/2 cup of juice

Great color in that drink. Do you think that if you froze the pom juice in ice cube trays it would cut down on the other ice you would have to use? Should give it even a richer color.
Mmm.. that looks so refreshing 🙂
What if u wanted to make like a blender full, say, for a girls nite?
