My oldest son, Alec, has been begging me to make homemade fried rice for a while. I decided to twist the basic recipe and make it with quinoa instead of rice. This Quinoa Chicken Fried Rice recipe is a hit for something new and different for your weeknight table, especially if you’re looking for something gluten-free, healthy and hearty. Feel free to substitute rice for the quinoa if you wish, but I love that quinoa is a gluten-free, nutty grain that is a complete protein which is high in fiber, low in calories and is high in iron, magnesium and calcium.

Oh, this is *perfect*!! I’d love to get the fried rice flavors, but with quinoa instead. Definitely bookmarking. 🙂
This is such a fabulous idea… and I’m not quite sure why I’d never thought to do this before. It looks fabulous!
What a great idea, Alison! I have to admit that I am so late to the party with trying quinoa. Two packs in my pantry and still have yet to try it. I think this recipe is just the inspiration I need to give it a go!
A fun twist on fried rice.
Found from the who’s coming to fitbloggin page.
For someone that’s just finally dipped into the world of quinoa. This really sounds good. I had some California Quinoa from whole foods and it was great.
I’m bookmarking this and will give it a try
What a great idea! I love homemade fried rice but have never tried it with quinoa. Brilliant!

I love making fried rice with quinoa! I use a blend of quinoa and brown rice and I can’t wait to add all of these flavors to it!
Quinoa makes fabulous fried “rice!” I love doing that. This one seems right up my alley, too.
I’m really getting into Quinoa lately- fun to mix it up instead of just always eating brown rice
This sounds amazing Alison. I love the idea of using quinoa and I am definitely giving it a try soon!
What a terrific idea! Fried rice has become part of my regular dinner rotation…we’ll have to give it a try with quinoa next.

We LOVE quinoa ~ this recipe is a must try!
I have cooked quinoa in the fridge. Thanks for solving part of my dinner menu tonight!!
I made this for our neighborhood dinner party pot luck. It was a hit! Love that it is gluten free.
As someone with Celiac I want everyone to know that replacing the rice with quinoa is NOT what makes it GF. Soy sauce has wheat in it and therefore the source of gluten in most Asian dishes. Using a GF soy sauce will make most fried rice dishes GF. Although this would be a great dish, minus the chicken, for anyone who is a vegetarian.
I’m tired of putting chicken in all my dishes so i tried mine with Shrimp… And Oh My My was it tasty … Loved loved loved it !!! Thank you for the idea !
Tried this recipe last night and it was delicious! I expected it to have a higher quinoa-to-chicken-and-veggies ratio, but either way it was great.
This recipe is amazing! I am new to quinoa, this was my first recipe with it and I can’t wait to try it in other ways. I recommend this recipe all the time!
