Super Bowl Sandwiches: Club Sandwich Recipe & Cookbook Giveaway

Super Bowl Sunday is almost upon us, and so many people have been calling me to purchase my cookbook, “400 Best Sandwiches: From Classics & Burgers to Wraps & Condiments”. (Honestly, I am just looking forward to the commercials and seeing Madonna). Anyway, a friend told me the other day that she is making something really simple: my  Club Sandwich recipe. In honor of Super Bowl 46, I thought I could give away one copy of my latest book filled with 400 Sandwich Recipes. Here are a few more selections from the book.

Club Sandwich

Prep Times:

15 minutes

4 servings

12 slices white or whole wheat bread (1⁄2-inch/1 cm thick slices), toasted
1⁄2 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise 125 mL
8 oz sliced turkey 250 g
2 small tomatoes, sliced
8 slices Swiss cheese
8 slices turkey bacon, cooked
4 lettuce leaves

Tip: Deli or roasted turkey can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

1. Place bread slices on a work surface. Spread mayonnaise on one side of 8 bread slices. Arrange turkey, tomato and Swiss cheese over mayonnaise on each slice. Stack 2 slices together, keeping toppings up, then place 2 slices of bacon and the lettuce on top of cheese. Cover with remaining top halves and press together gently. Slice into quarters. Secure with toothpicks to hold the stacks together.

  1. I watch the Superbowl for the commercials and the performances, and really don’t care who wins.

I haven’t decided for sure what I’ll make, but probably guacamole and cake batter truffles.

  2. I am not making Super Bowl food, just a roasted chicken with Pesto sauce under the skin, vertically roasting it with fingerling potatoes and my copy of the green bean dish made on Rosie Show last night. We are rooting for the Giants.

BTW, I Liked Ingredients, Inc on FB. I do not have a twitter account.

  3. i’ll actually be traveling for work on superbowl sunday, so i’ll just get home about an hour before the game starts! that means that, for the first time in ages, we won’t be hosting a superbowl party. i’ll still probably try to make a quick pot of chili + some sweets for my husband + i. =)

  4. We’re Broncos fans and the Pats took them out of the Super Bowl running, so we’re rooting for the Giants. I’ll be making Cooking Light’s ancho pork stew.

  5. Going to a friends house with my family to watch the game. I will make either a side dish or an appetizer. Rooting for the commercials.

  6. I tweeted about the giveaway.

Somehow I have two first entries, I did one then had to tend to something. WHen I got back on I didn’t see the first post so I did it again, only to find it mixed in with the day before entries. Sorry just delete one of them.
