Blueberry Peach Cobbler Bars

Nothing says summer more than fresh blueberries and peaches. Two nights ago, I saw a recipe for blackberry and peach cobbler bars in the latest Southern Living magazine, and I immediately tagged the page. Yesterday, my daughter, Leigh and I made these Blueberry Peach Cobbler Bars. We adjusted the recipe a bit by omitting bourbon, adding maple syrup, and reducing a few other ingredients. OMG these were so amazing! We ate these warm with a glass of milk, and honestly, we couldn’t stop eating them! These are the perfect recipe to make with the kids or bring to a summer get-together. They will feed a crowd!

Fourth of July Buttermilk Cupcakes

Happy Fourth of July. I hope everyone has a relaxing and safe holiday. My kids and I had so much fun making these Buttermilk Cupcakes last week. The cupcake recipe comes from Southern Living magazine from several years ago. It’s so easy and one of my favorites. Frost with homemade cream cheese icing or store-bought, and top with sprinkles or these adorable Fourth of July marshmallows by Jet Puffed.

My sister, Julie, made the best New Year’s Eve dinner ever (she always does). She served this Spinach-Apple Salad with Maple-Cider Vinaigrette, and it was so delicious! She found this recipe in the December issue of Southern Living magazine, and it went great with her Beef Tenderloin and Double-Stuffed Potatoes. I love this salad for wintertime, Valentine’s Day or any fall or winter entertaining. Check out Southern Living for more great recipes.

Southern Tea Cakes Cookies

When I worked at Southern Living magazine, we often tested Tea Cake recipes and served them with fresh homemade lemonade. It’s a traditional Southern delight. This was the first time I ever made Tea Cakes, and the raw cookie dough is almost as delicious as the baked cookie. This recipe is really easy, awesome, and my kids and neighbors loved them!
