Healthy Breakfast Popsicles

healthy breakfast popsicles

We make smoothies and smoothie bowls almost every single day. My daughter, Leigh, turned one of our favorite simple and healthy smoothie recipes into popsicles to create these Healthy Breakfast Popsicles. All you need is five simple ingredients including the chocolate flavored Dynamic Fruit & Greens which is a blend of organic vegetable such as kale, kelp, Chlorella and turmeric that adds antioxidants as well as an amazing chocolate flavor (if you’re a Lifetime Fitness member, they sell it at the facility).

When frozen, remove from the popsicle molds and sprinkle with additional oats and chia seeds. Trust me, you’ll love these!

Banana Granola Smoothie

My favorite new smoothie recipe is this very simple Banana Granola Smoothie. For breakfast or an afternoon snack, this smoothie will satisfy you and the kids. My son, Zachary, started football practice this week. Can you believe it? Where is summer going? I have been making him this Banana Granola Smoothie before his rigorous practices, and he loves it! This will also be on our list for a back to school breakfast recipe. Feel free to add protein powder and 1 (6-ounce) container of nonfat Greek yogurt. If your bananas are not quite ripe yet, add 2 teaspoons of honey. I this smoothie recipe with only 4 ingredients, and I use Kind Granola which is gluten-free, high in fiber and omega-3 fatty acids.  I got this smoothie idea from my friends at Lifetime Fitness where I enjoy a healthy smoothie after my own workouts. Try it, you’ll love it!

Spinach Pineapple Smoothie

I love green smoothies! Last week after I worked out at Lifetime Fitness, I noticed that the drink of the day was a “Spinach Pineapple Smoothie”. Their version had pineapple, pineapple juice, spinach and ice. I tweeted about it, and so many people responded that it sounded so good. I went straight home to create my own version of Spinach Pineapple Smoothie to share with you so you would have measurements. This smoothie tasted great, and even my kids loved it. Try it with kale too. It’s fabulous!
