An Amazing Bermuda Discount Package at One of My Favorite Resorts

Hamilton Infinity pool harbor Bermuda

Who says summer is over? It’s definitely not in Alabama (where it will be a record 88 degrees today), but I had to share this amazing discount package at the Bermuda’s Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, the host hotel for the 2017 America’s Cup. They are offering the new “Endless Summer” package, saving guests 33% on a three-night stay. Travelers will receive every third night complimentary when a vacation coincides with a Friday or Saturday night. The package is available year-round with rates starting at $239 per night in a Deluxe Garden View room, excluding tax and service. I was there a few years ago, and it is the ultimate Bermuda hotel!

Hamilton Princess Hotel bermuda

Less than a two-hour flight from New York and less than 3 hours from Atlanta, Bermuda’s winter temperature hovers around a comforting 65 degrees. This season, go beyond the pink-sand beaches and explore the island’s diverse cultural and outdoor offerings. Added bonus? Thanks to Bermuda’s North Atlantic location, the destination remains Zika-free.

Where to Relax…Enjoy spa therapies and boutique fitness classes at the leading lifestyle and wellbeing brand exhale, a new addition to Hamilton Princess as part of their recent $100 million renovation.

Marcus' Cocktail Bermuda Hamilton Princess

Where to Eat…Experience the Sunday Brunch with live music at Marcus’, the island’s first and only celebrity-helmed restaurant, led by Marcus Samuelsson. Don’t miss Art Mels, known for their traditional Bermudian fish sandwiches and The Meltdown, where Black Rum & Ginger and Rum Swizzle ice cream flavors (inspired by Bermuda) are served.

Hamilton Princess & Beach Club

Where to Shop… Stroll through the neighboring boutiques of Hamilton including the TABS shop, offering authentic Bermuda shorts designed by a local Bermudian; and visit Isolated Surfboards, one of the few institutions that carves surfboards by hand.

What to See… Join the hotel’s art tour, which will bring guests up-close with more than 60 museum-quality pieces of art including works by Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, and Nelson Mandela. Visit St. Georges, a charming UNESCO World Heritage site dotted with colorful houses and early colonial architecture.

Looking for more… There’s golf, more than 22 miles of biking trails, kite-surfing and tennis.

More on Hamilton Princess & Beach Club

Known to Bermudians and world travelers as ”The Pink Palace,” Hamilton Princess & Beach Club opened its doors on January 1, 1885. Bermuda had gained international recognition two years earlier when Princess Louise, the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria, visited for a winter retreat and called it ”a place of eternal spring.” When the hotel opened, it was named ”The Princess” in honor of the royal visit. It is the oldest member of the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts family.

Below, are expert tips from Lead Guide and Program Director, Kirkland Shave, on how to keep resolutions:
  • Weave subtle changes into daily life to create long lasting change, and reward yourself with each step
  • Make healthy food visible by keeping a fruit bowl on the counter and chopped veggies, such as carrots, in a bowl of water in the fridge. This way when you go to open it to grab something, the first thing you’ll see are beta-carotene rich, crispy carrots.
  • Focus on providing yourself with adequate sleep. Do so by exercising after sleep rather than before (when you wake up in the morning is best), and powering down computers, phones, TVs, and bright light exposure prior to sleeping, and relaxing with an epsom salt bath before bed.

Where to go Now: Grand Hotel Tremezzo

Grand Hotel Tremezzo

I just back back from Lake Como, Italy, and my oldest son, Alec, asked said… “Mom, I know you have been to some amazing destinations and resorts. Is this one of the most incredible place you have ever been?” I replied, “Yes, without a doubt.” I have received so many text messages, emails, social media questions asking all about my trip to the Grand Hotel Tremezzo. Email me or message me, and I would love to tell you all about it. Here’s a quick look at the dramatic beauty of this amazing resort destination. See my video below where I have incorporated some of my pictures of my favorite moments.

My 2013 Travel Year in Review

Wow. Writing this seems tougher than I thought as it has been a year of many ups and downs. The ups have included the continued health of my father, the blessing of my three children, my two sisters and my brother along with my amazing work and passion that has come together and brought so many incredible opportunities my way.  I have spent so much time learning and thinking about gratitude this year. Thursday Thoughts: New Travel Magazine, Awesome Kids and more

Wow, what a week! I worked ALL last weekend and this week on the upcoming launch of Healthy Travel Magazine coming March 2013 in conjunction with Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Magazine. This has been my 10-year idea which is now coming into reality. Being an Editor-in-Chief of a new travel magazine launch is the most thrilling experience in my entire career (and a lot of work too)! Wait until you see it!

Other news:

1. My three kids are awesome! My daughter, Leigh, is getting ready for several upcoming dance competitions this month with dance rehearsals every weekend. She has incredible passion and drive, and I am so proud of her!

My son, Zachary’s birthday was last week. He got a new basketball goal, and if it ever stops raining, he might get a chance to try it out. This is us overlooking the Birmingham skyline (small I know).

My oldest son Alec, is too talented for words. A new package arrives weekly for him to review for his outstanding and growing sports blog Sneaker King. Check it out and please share to your friends! This is all of the work of a 15-year-old on his own. I am SO impressed!

2. My dad has been really sick for a week. It’s tough! Say a prayer for him.

3. Being a single mom of 3 kids (who works more than full time) is a really difficult thing. If you didn’t know that about me, you do now! Please send any words of wisdom over my way.

4. Other thoughts of the week:

I love this super cool pantry via Evan Joseph

5. Lastly. I am so fortunate to be headed to this island this weekend where these photos (above and below) were taken! More on that later! Have a great weekend! Stay tuned….
