My sister, Natalie, always makes the best Warm Cranberry Holiday Punch for Thanksgiving. When you walk in her house, you can smell the amazing aroma. I was so cold yesterday in my office that I decided to tweak her recipe to have something warm in our house to drink on cold days, evenings to enjoy by our outdoor fire. You can make this over the stove or in a percolator, and it’s the prefect amount of sweet, spiced and full of warm comforting goodness. Enjoy this holiday season and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Who loves cider? My 3 kids and I are addicted to my newest creation for Pomegranate Cider. It is a big hit with family and friends. I made it for Thanksgiving, and I wish I actually had made more. This is the type of recipe that you definitely want to have left-over. I have some really great news! I am so honored to be a part of the SC Johnson “Blogger panel” this year! I will be writing for their website on a monthly basis and sharing recipes, tips and more. They are a family-owned company, and they offer some of my most favorite, useful products in my kitchen and home. See SC Johnson’s website for this recipe and more of my posts! Stay tuned for more…
I first made this recipe for Peppermint Milkshakes on my blog in December of 2008 when I literally threw three ingredients together in a blender for my kids instead of taking them to get peppermint ice cream. Since then, I have been making these religiously for parties and for my 3 kids. It has been one of the most heavenly requested recipes from my children’s friends who have come to my house and tried them. Whenever I’m invited to a holiday party, I typically get asked to make these. This past sunday night, I made them for 28 people, and it was beyond an absolute hit. So many requested me to post the infamous recipe one more time so they can make them for their family Christmas events. Here it is…Enjoy!
It has been so cold outside lately, so my kids have been requesting hot chocolate. Since I had some peppermint sticks on hand, I crushed them up and made this really simple Peppermint Hot Chocolate mixture. They were ecstatic, and this has been a weekly beverage. I used skim milk in my recipe because that is what we drink at my house to reduce the calories and fat a bit. Enjoy this cozy beverage just in time for the holidays.
We love hot chocolate at my house! My kids consider it a real treat when I say, “Who wants hot chocolate?” They love it in the morning, after school, and sometimes, instead of dessert, after dinner. And my non-coffee friends will stop at Starbucks for hot chocolate as fast as I will get my latte (and for those who know me, that’s a lot). So, I thought what would be a simpler and better holiday gift than the gift of hot chocolate? This recipe is a breeze and tastes great. Feel free to give a large 1-quart container or several small 4-ounce jars. Whichever you choose, I know you and your friends will love this recipe. The only thing that is missing is the milk.
