According to Palmer, he was in the habit of drinking iced tea with lemonade at home, and in 1960 (at the US. Open), he ordered this at a bar, and a woman overheard him and called it “the Arnold Palmer” drink. The alcohol-based version is traditionally called a John Daly.
Sparkling Arnold Palmer Tea
11/2 ounces vodka
Lemon slices and/or wedges
4 ounces Sparkling Ice Lemon Tea
1. Add vodka and lemon slices to a tall chilled glass with ice. Top with Sparkling Ice Lemon Tea and stir to combine. Garnish with lemon slices and mint if you like.
