Kids Cook it Up: Sausage-Vegetable Pizza

My kids are already out of school for the summer, and they are so excited. They love having friends over, of course, and I like to ask them if they want to help out in the kitchen. My kids (and their friends) love being in the kitchen. It’s the center of our home. Most of their friends know that I’m a Recipe Developer and Cookbook Author and that I’m always taking pictures in the kitchen. We made these Sausage-Vegetable Pizzas the other day, and they had a blast. Making pizzas is a fun kid’s activity. I love to set up an array of toppings, and I let them create their own. Try this for an awesome summer activity.

  1. Awesome! Great way to include whatever kids are there today! I need to run to the store for pizza crust & we’ll make our own today. 🙂

  2. We love using flatbreads for our crusts (sometimes in the oven, sometimes on the grill). With our kids, we process some spinach or carrots up into the marinara to give it some extra nutritional kick. For us, we’ll use it as a great fridge clearing exercise for all kinds of veggies. So easy and simple and fun for everybody!

  3. I loved making my own pizzas when I was a kid…it was the perfect way to hand select my toppings 🙂 These pizzas look fantastic and the kids look like they are having a great time! Happy summer to you all 🙂
