Blueberry Spritzer

Blueberries are a nutritional powerhouse. Recently Tufts University conducted a study of 60 various fruits and vegetables and found that blueberries rated the highest for their antioxidant capabilities. They have been linked to great health benefits and are said to help prevent alzheimer’s, prevent urinary tractions, improve aging and eyesight and more. This refreshing summery beverage is a cinch to make with only 4 ingredients. It’s a hit with adults as well as the kids.

Blueberry Spritzer

Prep Times:

20 minutes

Yield:

4 servings

Ingredients:

3 cups blueberry-pomegranate juice
11/2 cups sparkling water
1 cup fresh blueberries
Ice cubes
Lime slices

Preparation:

1. For the spritzer, in a 32-ounce pitcher combine blueberry-pomegranate juice and sparkling water; stir well.

2. Fill 4 tall glasses with ice. Pour spritzer into each glass; add blueberries, garnish each with a slice of lime, and serve.

  1. Love the sound of this. I make a similar version with cherry juice based on the studies about cherry relieving muscle soreness after workouts. It’s always nice to have a break from plain water. I love the addition of the whole fruit here.
